HOW DO I STORE Orr's Island Seafood Chowder after receiving my order?
If the chowder is still frozen when it arrives, you may store it in the freezer until ready to consume. If the chowder is thawed when it arrives,we do not recommend refreezing. Refrigerate chowder and consume within 3 days.

HOW DO I HEAT Orr's Island Seafood Chowder?
Thaw the chowder in the refrigerator overnight. Transfer the chowder to a saucepan or double boiler and heat on medium heat, stirring often. Do not boil. Serve and enjoy!

Please note that the chowder will initially appear grainy and separated, but will return to its thick creamy consistency upon proper heating.

Orr's Island Seafood Chowder may be stored frozen for at least 6 months. Once defrosted, the chowder should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 3 days.

You may buy Orr's Island Seafood Chowder by the quart on Orr's Island at the Salt Cod Cafe. During the winter months when the cafe is closed you may call us to arrange a time to pick up your chowder.
